  1. Pennsylvania Youth Theatre (PYT) is a professional, non-profit performing arts organization whose mission is to educate, entertain, and enrich the lives of young people and their families through the art of theatre. Through a comprehensive performing arts curriculum, literature- based performances, and vigorous outreach programs, PYT challenges children to develop their talents, to think creatively, and to acquire an appreciation and understanding of the arts.
PYT is a professional theatre which produces a season of 3 to 4 Mainstage literature-based plays seen by school and family audiences of 16,000. It is also a performing arts school offering a year-round curriculum of drama, dance, musical theatre and voice to 750 children annually. This dual nature, unique to PYT, brings great benefits to thousands of children on both sides of the footlights. In tandem with these initiatives, PYT’s outreach programs benefit thousands of underserved children through scholarships, workshops, residencies in local schools, and subsidized tickets to performances.

We are trying to get the word out about PYT. I am writing to invite you as our guest to come see The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley running May 3-19, 2013 at the Ice House in Bethlehem, PA. Stanley Lambchop is your ordinary, everyday, run-of-the-mill ten-year-old: normal mom and dad, normal little brother, normal life. That’s just the problem…for Stanley, life is too normal. He wants to travel the world, do something amazing, something no one’s ever seen before. Careful what you wish for, Stanley! One night, the bulletin board on the wall above Stanley’s bed comes loose and falls-right on top of Stanley! The next morning, Stanley Lambchop wakes up flat. Not just a little flat…really, REALLY flat! In a whirlwind musical travelogue, Stanley-the ultimate exchange students-scours the globe for a solution to his unusual problem. He’s stamped, posted and cancelled from Hollywood to France to Honolulu and beyond. And whether he’s thwarting a robbery at the Louvre Museum in Paris, or ‘hanging ten’ off the coast of Hawaii, Stanley is closing in on his goal of being a three-dimensional boy once more.
Please let me know if you want to come see the show. You can get more information at http://www.123pyt.org.
