Dance Lessons at Taylor Gym – Laura Hausmann

Some of our readers may be aware of the dance class opportunities at Lehigh for students who are interested in keeping up their ballet or jazz form. Or maybe, just maybe, you might wish to acquire a new skill or try something completely different as one of your New Year’s resolutions. Actually, these dance courses are for all community residents, faculty, staff, families, and all part-time and full-time students from any school.

Lehigh’s Athletic and Recreation programs have offered dance programs for a number of years. Laura Hausmann has been teaching ballet and jazz classes on Tuesday evenings, offering a variety of classes in the top floor of the Taylor Gymnasium. For details on the dance programs, DANCE INFORMATION 6 page packet is available by dancing your curser over, and clicking on the previously highlighted section.

Who is Laura Hausmann? She is internationally known as a versatile dancer, teacher, and choreographer. She has danced throughout the US and on every continent, except Australia. Some of the companies she has performed with are: Radio City Music Hall Ballet Co., Boston Ballet, Anna Sokolow Repertoire, Broadway, television, MTV videos, and performances at the Kennedy Center and Lincoln Center. More than her impressive bio, perhaps these images of a few students enjoying the movement might sway your consideration. The 8 week courses begin January 14th.
