Gala2012 performer KATHARINE MCPHEE withdraws from engagement
Zoellner Arts Center engages KRISTIN CHENOWETH for Annual Fundraising Event
Zoellner Arts Center at Lehigh University presents “An Evening with Kristin Chenoweth,” for its premier fundraiser Gala2012 on Saturday, October 20, 2012. Tony and Emmy Award winner Chenoweth will replace Katharine McPhee who had to withdraw from the evening’s performance for immediate medical reasons.
Broadway, television and film star, Chenoweth is remembered for her show-stealing performance in You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown and originated the role of Glinda the Good Witch in Wicked. Chenoweth was most recently seen on Broadway as Fran Kubelik in the revival of Promises, Promises starring alongside Sean Hayes.
Kristin appears in CBS’s The Good Wife and is currently featured in the film “Hit and Run,” written by Dax Shepard and co-starring Kristen Bell. In Spring 2013, she will be seen in the film “Family Weekend,” which centers on a disgruntled teenager’s attempts to get attention from her dysfunctional family.
On TV she starred in Pushing Daisies, The West Wing, GCB and has appeared on Glee, Frasier and Ugly Betty. On screen, Chenoweth has appeared in “Deck the Halls” with Danny DeVito and Matthew Broderick, “Bewitched” with Nicole Kidman and “The Pink Panther” with Steve Martin.
A veteran of the concert scene, Chenoweth had sold-out concerts at Carnegie Hall and the Metropolitan Opera House. Her numerous collaborations include The New York Philharmonic, Boston Pops, National Symphony Orchestra, and the Washington National Opera’s 50th Anniversary Gala with Placido Domingo, among others.
