In keeping with the Arts@Lehigh mission to share information about learning opportunities and academic inquiry available for all students, faculty and educators in our local community, we present information about some of the exhibitions presented by the Lehigh University Art Galleries (announced to date). This post provides some links to information about the exhibits. As the opening date draws nearer, we’ll be able to share more information to support those intrested in digging a little deeper in the these artistic expressions.

African Visions of Barack Obama
Folk and popular images of America’s 44th President presented in conjunction with the South Mountain College Seminar 2012. Curated by Norman Girardot (Religion Studies) and Ricardo Viera (Art)

A changing exhibition in 15 movements by Jeffrey W. Ludwig (Lehigh University Art Galleries Curator). An installation of works on paper derived from a selection of John Cage’s composition notes (1933-1963)
Not Wanting to HEAR anything about John Cage
Environmental sound installation by Kristian Derek Ball (Lehigh University Audio Coordinator for Zoellner Arts Center). This installation engages the experience of sonic multiplicity through the acoustic blending of three different aural spaces.

Three videos from the Dominican Republic: El Otro, portraits of Haitian migrant workers from the Northeastern border, Equivalencias, lanscapes of San Cristobal Quarry; Les present a…, the photographic memory of those not present.

Four Artists- Photographers
Lydia Pana, Daniel Paashus, Janice Lipzin and Vicki DaSilva. Invitational exhibition exploring stop-motion animation and paradoxical relationship between photo and video. In conjunction with ArtsQuest’s INVISION: Photo Festival and Lehigh Valley Photography Month.
