Green the Block Event on Sept 11th, 4-9pm South Bethlehem

On September 11th 2009, the National Day of Service, Lehigh University’s Southside Initiative will be partnering with both national and local organizations to get residents on the streets of the Southside to “Green the Block”.

The national organizations; Hip Hop Caucus and Green for All have launched a new campaign “Green the Block”. Local Companies and organizations; The Southside Initiative from Lehigh University, All Eyes Management LLC, the Banana Factory, Blue Anchor Productions the MAZE garden and more have joined together in a grassroots effort to put a shine on the streets of the Southside.

“Green the Block’s” mission is to ensure that lesser served communities have access to the benefits and opportunities of the growing clean-energy economy.

Lehigh Valley Green the Block Movement will be taking place on September 11th with a community clean up starting at 3:45P and end at 5:45P with an Open Mic celebration and networking event from 6:00pm until 9:30 at The Banana Factory ,25 W 3rd Street.

Come on your own or get your church, school or friends involved.
There will be information available and we encourage sponsors who are interested in coming on board to contact event organizers.
